Applies to: the Safe Caller app for Android and iOS
By downloading, installing, or using the Safe Caller app (referred to here as "the App" or the "Licensed Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use (referred to here as "the Terms"). If you do not agree with any of them, do not use the App and uninstall it.
These Terms are the legal agreement between you and Wilmar Arango, an individual doing business under the trade name "WeDevTek", based in Colombia (referred to here as "we", "WeDevTek", or "the developer"). If you use the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
If you keep using the App after we publish a change to the Terms, you are considered to accept the new version.
Safe Caller is an initiative developed and operated independently by an individual, as a personal project aimed at giving users a tool for protection against unwanted calls, while giving priority to preserving user privacy and control over their information.
As part of that purpose, Safe Caller was designed with a privacy-by-design approach. The app does not collect, store, or transmit users' contacts to remote servers, and does not require the user to provide their name, phone number, or other directly identifying data. Likewise, Safe Caller does not include advertising that interferes with the app's functionality or deliberately affects the user experience.
Safe Caller is subject to ongoing maintenance, updates, and improvement to keep it working correctly and evolving. That said, certain features or components of the platform may experience interruptions, temporary unavailability, errors, or limitations arising from technical, operational, or third-party circumstances. As a result, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or fully error-free operation.
Safe Caller is not a business or professional platform, and it is not intended to provide telecommunications, security, identity-verification, or credit-rating services.
Safe Caller is solely a supporting informational tool: it shows you information contributed by the community of users, including information our own team additionally reviews on numbers already reported by the community, so that you can make your own decisions. It does not replace your judgment or any official source, and it should not be the sole basis for any decision.
You acknowledge and agree that the disclaimers and limitations of liability in these Terms are reasonable in this context, that they form an essential part of the agreement, and that without them WeDevTek could not offer the App.
Safe Caller is a call identification, spam detection, and unwanted-call-blocking app for Android and iOS. Its main features are:
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use Safe Caller on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and to Google Play's and the App Store's rules.
This license does not allow you to:
You agree to use Safe Caller lawfully and responsibly. In particular, it is prohibited to:
We may suspend or block access to the service from any installation where we reasonably detect a pattern of abusive use or a violation of these Terms, without prior notice.
The number-reputation information Safe Caller shows comes from the community of users. The numbers, names, labels, and categories tied to a report are content created by users, not by WeDevTek.
Regarding that content, WeDevTek acts solely as a technical intermediary and hosting provider. Specifically, WeDevTek:
Each user who reports a number is the sole author and sole responsible party for their report. By voluntarily reporting or blocking a number, that user:
If the number you block is already saved as a contact in your address book, that block applies only on your device and generates no report to the community database.
WeDevTek has no obligation to moderate content, but may do so at its discretion, without that creating liability or an obligation to do so again: it may remove, hide, reclassify, edit, or retain any report, and may limit or terminate access for anyone who abuses the reporting system.
A number only enters review to be marked "Verified business" or "Verified user" after it has already been reported or flagged by the community first, like any other record in this section — our team does not generate these records independently or from its own information. Verification is an additional step our team performs on a number already present in the community database, based on the information already provided by those who reported it and, when available, on information supplied by whoever claims to be the number's owner.
Because of its community origin, this verification does not change the general liability regime of this section: we do not guarantee it will remain accurate over time, a number may change ownership or stop meeting the conditions that led to its verification, and WeDevTek may correct, withdraw, or re-mark a previously verified number as spam at any time. The same disclaimers and liability limits in section 7 apply equally to these records. The notice-and-takedown procedure in section 8 also applies to a verified record you believe is incorrect.
This verification badge is also distinct from any network-verification indication (for example, STIR/SHAKEN) your carrier may show during a call — see the Privacy Policy, section 10, for the details of that difference.
Spam detection relies on collective reports and automated checks. These checks reduce errors but do not eliminate them, and errors are inherent to a community-fed system. The same applies to numbers that also went through our team's additional review (section 6): that review starts from the same community information and is not infallible either. WeDevTek does not guarantee that the information is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. In particular, it is possible that:
By using the App you accept and assume these risks, and you agree not to base important decisions solely on Safe Caller's information, but to verify it through other means when it matters.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WeDevTek will not be liable for damages or losses arising from an incorrect classification, an inaccurate name or label, a blocked or unblocked call, an unanswered call, or decisions you or any third party make relying on the App's information.
If you believe a number — yours, your business's, or a third party's that you represent — appears reported by mistake, that a business or user verification is no longer accurate, or in a way that harms you, anyone, whether or not they are a Safe Caller user, may request its review, correction, or removal from the database by writing to [email protected] and stating:
WeDevTek will acknowledge receipt, review the request, and, where appropriate, correct or remove the record within a reasonable time (our goal is to do so within ten (10) business days). We may also remove a number even if the report was accurate, if we consider it appropriate.
This channel is the primary and required first step for resolving any disagreement about a record in the database. Before initiating any claim, complaint, or action of any kind related to a number or to the community database, you must: (i) have submitted a request through this channel, and (ii) have given WeDevTek at least thirty (30) calendar days to address it. To the extent permitted by law, WeDevTek will not be liable for harm that could have been avoided or mitigated had this channel been used. None of this limits your right to go to a competent authority or to comply with an order from one.
Safe Caller offers a premium subscription with additional features. The subscription is managed through the corresponding store: Google Play on Android and Apple on iOS, with RevenueCat as a technical intermediary.
Safe Caller may offer a free trial period (for example, 14 days) to new subscribers. When the trial ends, the subscription renews automatically and the corresponding price is charged, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annual, depending on the plan), unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The charge is made through your Google Play account or your Apple ID.
You can cancel anytime:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are given for partial periods, except as provided by Google Play's and the App Store's refund policies or the consumer law that applies to you.
We may change subscription prices. Any change will be notified to you with reasonable notice and, where the law requires it, will need your consent to keep charging you.
Safe Caller may offer a program under which users who report numbers the community later confirms as spam earn premium time without paying. The eligibility criteria, the length of the benefit, and the program's conditions are explained inside the app and may change. The benefit has no monetary value, is not redeemable for cash, and may be suspended if misuse of the program is detected.
To function, Safe Caller needs you to grant certain operating-system permissions. Essential permissions are needed for core features; optional ones expand what the App can do. If you revoke an essential permission, the App may become limited or stop working, and WeDevTek will not be liable for that loss of functionality. The details for each permission are in the Privacy Policy.
Safe Caller is not directed at children under 13. By using the App you represent that you are at least 13 years old. If you are a minor under the law of your country (generally, between 13 and 18), you need the consent of your parent or legal guardian to use the App. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Safe Caller uses these third-party services, each under its own terms:
WeDevTek is not responsible for the operation, policies, or content of these services.
Safe Caller — its code, design, logos, interface, text, graphics, algorithms, and database structure — is owned by WeDevTek and is protected by applicable law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership right in the App or its components to you.
This section applies only if you downloaded Safe Caller from the Apple App Store. These provisions are required by Apple and form part of these Terms:
You and WeDevTek acknowledge that these Terms are an agreement between you and WeDevTek only, and not with Apple. Apple is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the Licensed Application or its content.
The license is limited to using the Licensed Application on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the App Store Terms of Service. It may not be transferred to a third party.
WeDevTek, not Apple, is responsible for providing maintenance and support for the Licensed Application. Apple has no obligation to furnish such services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Licensed Application. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App, if any, to you. Apple will have no other warranty obligation.
WeDevTek, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the Licensed Application or your use of it, including: product-liability claims; claims alleging failure to conform to legal or regulatory requirements; and claims arising under consumer-protection or similar legislation.
In the event of any third-party claim that the Licensed Application or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, WeDevTek, not Apple, will be responsible for the investigation, defense, and resolution of any such claim.
You represent that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by it as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You and WeDevTek acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and that, upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Safe Caller is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. In particular:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. Many countries prohibit limiting certain liabilities toward consumers; in those cases, this section applies only to the extent that law allows. This includes, among others, Colombia's Consumer Protection Statute (Law 1480 of 2011) and the consumer-protection law that applies to you based on your country of residence. Where those rules grant you non-waivable rights, those rights prevail.
If a competent authority finds any exclusion or limitation in this section invalid or unenforceable, that exclusion or limitation will apply to the maximum extent the law allows, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you release WeDevTek from any claim, demand, or liability arising from: (i) reports, names, or labels created by other users; (ii) the content of the community database; (iii) calls handled or not handled by the App; and (iv) any dispute between you and another user, or between you and the person or business that owns a number. This release does not apply where the consumer-protection or data-protection law that protects you prohibits it.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify WeDevTek (and cover reasonable costs and attorneys' fees) against any third-party claim arising from:
WeDevTek may assume the defense of a claim covered by this clause, and you agree to cooperate reasonably. This clause does not apply to the extent a claim results from WeDevTek's own conduct, or where the consumer-protection law that protects you prohibits it.
We may release updates to Safe Caller at any time to improve performance, fix bugs, or add features. We recommend keeping the App up to date.
We may also modify these Terms. We always publish the current version on this page, with its "Last updated" date. Since the App has no accounts and we do not store your contact details, we cannot notify you individually: we recommend checking it periodically. If you keep using the App after a change is published, you are considered to accept it. If you do not accept it, stop using the App.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you breached these Terms or that your use puts the service or other people at risk. We may also suspend or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at any time. Termination does not create a right to a refund of an active subscription, except as provided by Google Play's or the App Store's policies or applicable consumer law.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling the App cancels the license to use it and deletes your block rules, your settings, and your protection statistics and achievements from your device — since these only ever existed locally — but it does not, by itself, cancel an active premium subscription: for that you must cancel it through Google Play or your Apple account.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection and data-protection rules of the country where you reside, which will apply to the extent you cannot waive them.
Before pursuing any formal proceeding, you must write to us at [email protected] and give us at least thirty (30) calendar days to try to resolve the matter directly (for matters related to a number in the database, the procedure in section 8 additionally applies). If we do not reach an agreement, the dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Colombia; however, if the law of your country of residence allows you to sue in the courts of your domicile, you retain that right.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, claims will be brought individually and not as part of a class or collective action. This provision does not apply where the law prohibits it; in Colombia, it does not affect the popular actions or group actions under Law 472 of 1998, which are non-waivable.
Nothing above prevents you from filing a complaint with the consumer or data-protection authority in your country (in Colombia, the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio).
WeDevTek will not be liable for any failure or delay in the service caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including, among others: internet, infrastructure-provider, or app-store outages, changes to operating systems, power outages, natural disasters, acts of authorities, labor disputes, or cyberattacks.
Use of Safe Caller is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We recommend reading it carefully.
